Curious cows

Do you know how curious cow are?

I had to fill the stock tank and decided to drive the pump back. It hasn't rained in a few weeks so I can actually get the van into the pasture.

Bessie is one of our heifers (girl). She is the most curious of all.

She couldn't help herself...she had to take a taste.

Tankasauras Rex

Eric found another Anatolian Shepherd. He is already 18 months and ready to guard. The only problem is that he is in Indiana.

Indiana...I am sure it is a nice place, but it is very....flat.

Soybeans on one side of the highway and corn on the other. Every now and then we saw a farm.

This is Tank. He is the sweetest dog. It didn't take him long to decide he liked us.

He was given a sedative to make the long 7 hour trip home. I don't know if it worked, but he didn't sleep.

He behaved fantastically given that he just met us.

Getting closer to our mountains...

Meeting the sheep...

...the most curious sheep.

A trip to the farm...

On our day off we decided to take a trip to the Sweetwater Valley Cheese Farm. Yep, we went to a farm for vacation...

Tanner got to see lots of Big Green Tractors.

All of the babies are taken away to the nursery after 1-3 days.

More trucks to stare at.

The milking parlor

Ok ladies, I know some of you have nursed your babies, and in doing so you feel like it is never ending. But this just looks painful. This is a pregnant cow, in the maternity ward.

I cannot even imagine the pain.

A day old calf.

Just born and already walking.

And on the way out...another Big Green Tractor.

Vacation...are we sure?

The trusses finally went up last week before we left for PA.

We are really looking forward to working under the roof. The sun won't bake us anymore and we can still work when it rains.

It is so weird to see the roof, it makes it all look so different.

Tanner had alot of fun this week, he spent most of his time on the scaffolding.

We finally got to use our nail gun this week. We realized after we bought it that we couldn't use it with the generator. So all of those other walls and the siding had to be done by hand. Now, we use the nail gun for the inside work, it is really nice and it goes much faster.

We have shade!!!

We got all of the inside walls up this week. It didn't feel much like a vacation, but we got alot accomplished.

Doesn't this look a little backwards? He actually enjoys doing this.

Tanner wanted to wear the safety goggles also.
