Windows and doors and so much more...

On wednesday our windows and doors were finally installed. We had hired the guys who put the roof on to install the windows. Unfortunately they had been busy and we fell to the bottom of that list.
This is the back of the house. On the left, the smaller window is the kitchen and the large is the dining room.

Back door

Front door. This will look so much better when the porch is on.

Wednesday was also our first electrical inspection. Yes, the addition of the word first means that we failed and will have a second. I was not there for the inspection and did not get the information from the inspector. Instead we had to decipher his chicken scratch on the permit he left behind. It seems like all of the things that the Volunteer Electric engineer told us we could do, this inspector says we can't. So more wiring and we will have to call and figure out what the last 2 points were that we couldn't read.

Today we decided to finally burn the cardboard and non treated lumber trash. It seemed to take forever for it to light, but when it did it was gone fast.

We finally were able to get the excavation guys to come and move some of the dirt for us. We need the trenches around the foundation filled in so we can start the porches. It has been raining so much that we couldnt get it done until now, and it really is still too wet.

Now with all the dirt around, a small rain makes lots of mud. So we laid down boardwalks. Now I understand what those early pioneers out west had to deal with. It gets so tiring always having to step in mud.

Today Madison came with me to water the cows, doesnt she look thrilled to be here.

She also isn't too happy when I take pictures of her. I was told I may only take 5 per day, so 3 more to go.

The guys decided to check out what we were doing, then Steak decided to give Beef Stew a tongue bath.
