Weekend ten

This weekend didn't turn out the way we had planned. We planned to finish the siding and put trusses up on Sat. The scattered showers that were forecasted for the entire week came with a vengence. It didn't rain as much as in March and April, but we did have a moat around the house again.

Due to the rain we decided not to work on Friday. We didn't want to take any chances of having anyone hurt themselves, and working in muck boots on scaffolding that is sitting in mud didn't sound like anything close to safe.

We also realized on Thursday we lost all of our extra help for the trusses so we wouldn't get that done either. This sent me in a new direction - paying someone to put the roof on. I had been toying with the idea for a few weeks (after the many nightmares of being the only one working on the roof). So I talked it over with Dad and we decided that it would be the best idea.

I called our excavator to get the name of some people that could do the roof for us. Luckily one of them was just finishing up a job and could start our project in about a week. So as it stands now our roof should be started a week from tomorrow **jumping for joy**.

Since we weren't working on the house we decided to get some much needed work done elsewhere on the farm.

The cows were really curious about what we were doing. They thought maybe we were bringing them some grain, but when we didn't have that they just stood as close as they could without touching us.

After having such trouble keeping the cows inside the pasture, we decided to close off the creek and use a stock tank. We started in pasture 4 where the cows have been for the last few days. We were able to get all 4 of them closed off and electrified.

Pasture 1 before - barbed wire across the creek
